Woking Tripod

Currently I'm working in Woking and if you walk through the town centre you will come across the huge sculpture of a 'Tripod' - The Invaders from Mars as fictionalised in H.G Wells' science fiction novel 'The War of the Worlds'. Woking is where the Martians first land in the book and it was here that he lived when he wrote it
